In the spring of 2016, E.J. Cunningham was approached by Kingswood University in Sussex, NB to help them with the first phase of the Benson Athletic Complex. The project included the construction of a soccer field, a softball field, a 14,500 cubic meter pond large enough for two ice hockey sheets in the winter, and a CFL size football field that will be used by the University and the community year round. A conceptual layout for the 18 acre site was developed by the University and local developer Geoff Fuller. and E.J. Cunningham performed a complete topographic survey of the site using our GPS equipment and calculated cut and fill volumes to locate the fields and minimize the amount of material that needed to be moved. Work consisted of stripping top soil, mass excavation of the pond, placing gravel on the roads and parking area, rough grading of the fields and green areas, and placing of top soil to fine grade field surfaces. Kingswood University and the developer then installed an irrigation system for the soccer field, prepared the top soil, and seeded the site. Work was completed on time and on budget.
